Family Reunite Act

Family Reunite Act
The Issue
As someone deeply affected by the current system, I am passionate about reforming the child support structure in the United States . Too many non-custodial parents see their financial responsibilities as optional, adversely impacting custodial parents and children alike. To circumvent this, I am advocating for a mandatory maximum of 25% child support deduction from non-custodial parents. If the non custodial parent is the only wage earner then the noncustodial parent should have rights to claim the child/children on their tax returns. Also if both parents are wage earners then parent will have the right to claim the child/children on their taxes every other year. Example noncustodial parent on the even years and custodial parent on odd years ; 2025 noncustodial parent and in 2026 the custodial parent claim said child/children. If child support is being paid on time no one other than the parents can claim child/children on their tax returns ; furthermore disabling tax fraud. No more paying child support for children that are not your biological children. Exemptions to this is adopted children or children born within a marriage.
For fairness, it is also essential that custodial parents adhere to court-ordered visitation rights. Too often, children are deprived of their right to know and bond with both parents, a right protected under the Convention on the Rights of the Child. We need to enforce this consistently. Also the noncustodial parent must make an effort to have visitation or there will be a ten percent increase on payments that will go to the child/children’s interest bearing account. If violated, the custodial parents should be penalized by putting child support in a trust fund, accruing interest until the child turns 18. Only upon compliance will the custodial parent resume receiving child support.
We believe that both parents should share equal responsibility for the birth of their offspring. Meaning that both parents will pay equal shares of the cost of the birth of the child or said children. In situations where the non-custodial parent is deemed harmful, arranged supervised visits should be an accessible option. We will provide various locations for visitation that will be safe and supervised.
These measures could benefit the United States in multiple ways. By reinforcing that parents are financially accountable, we help create jobs and tax-payers out of non-custodial parents. This reduces the burden on Social Security Supplemental Income and aids working citizens.
Help me address this issue that not only affects families but also the United States as a whole. Stand with us and demand the establishment of a mandatory maximum child support and regulated parental visitation rights. Sign this petition to reunite families and create an equitable system that best serves our children.
