Stop Old Oak housing force me to get rid of my dogs!
The Issue
I have had my Pomeranian Sid for 5 years and my Chihuahua Fred for 3 years, with me being the 4th owner of little Fred. Me and my mum moved to London in April to build a better life, we were told by Old Oak Housing that we couldn't bring the dogs which devastated me. We decided to give the dogs to my brother who lives round the corner so they would still be close by. My mum suffers from manic depression so the dogs are a lifeline for her, if she didn't have them to walk she wouldn't leave the house at all. My brother would drop the dogs round in the morning for my mum and they would spend some time with her to stop her being lonely, now we are aware you need permission to keep a pet but nowhere in the policy does it say you can't have an animal visit. We are now being persecuted for this with the housing association forcing us to get rid of the dogs and even applying for an eviction. Mine and my mums life would stop if we no longer had the dogs, neither are a nuisance and all the neighbours love them. There are numerous other dogs on the estate which haven't been given permission to live there but the owners have heard nothing about removing them. I am heartbroken by this and can not see a life without my dogs for me or my mum.
