The decision to alter Family Guy into a family-friendly animated sitcom may distort the core humor and narratives that have been painstakingly built over 19 seasons. Sudden changes can alienate a considerable portion of its estimated 25 million viewers (Source: Nielsen Ratings), possibly jeopardizing the viewer base that has consistently made Family Guy one of the most popular shows on television.
