Justice for Bradley Morris

Justice for Bradley Morris

The Issue

On December 6,2017 a shooting took place and Bradley Morris was named as the perpetrator. Mr. Morris has been incarcerated for almost 2 years with no evidence outside of what the victim has stated.  The Mayfield Police Department failed to do a ballistics test because there was no weapon found nor a gunshot residue test to see if there was any residue or on his skin or clothes. The so-called “witnesses” that were supposed to be present the day that the crime was committed, all had different variations of the story, none of which place Mr. Morris at the crime scene. After being held at Graves County Jail for almost 2 years, Mr. Morris was tried by a jury on September 10-12th 2019.  The jury found him guilty and recommended 70 years in prison.

Mr. Morris is an African-American male and was tried by an all-white jury.  He was not tired by a jury of his peers.  He was tried and sentenced to basically life in prison all by word of mouth, no physical or circumstantial evidence whatsoever.   The victim in the case and is alive and well and Mr. Morris was given a sentence more than a murderer would have received.  There is extreme bias in the case and Mr. Morris deserves to have another trial with a mix of minorities in the jury even if it must be moved to another county.  Mr. Morris didn’t take a life and he does not deserve to have his life taken.
