Hi Folks!

Thank you for your overwhelming support — we are thrilled to share that our petition has now crossed 13,000 signatures!

This milestone is a powerful reflection of our collective voice, and we couldn’t have achieved it without each one of you — your shares, signatures, and solidarity have made a real difference.

We’re also pleased to share some encouraging news: an employer-focused organisation has reached out to us, expressing their intent to raise this issue on behalf of UK employers who value their skilled migrant workforce. This collaboration strengthens our case and shows that the concern is shared not just by migrants and their families, but by the businesses that rely on them.

Here is the message:

Hello, my name is Karina Mazur and I am the co-founder of migreats, a community-led platform that helps international talent obtain VISA-sponsored roles in the UK. Within our sector, there are many of us who are deeply concerned about the government’s proposal to increase the time it takes to settle in the UK on a Skilled Worker visa from 5 years to 10 years.

We have paired with Amber, of Salmo VISA, another immigration tech platform - to make sure that the government can understand the damage that will be done if this paper goes through.

This change could be applied retrospectively and risks disrupting thousands of lives. But it’s not just personal, it’s economic. These policies directly undermine the UK’s competitiveness, particularly in attracting top global talent to startups and innovation-driven companies.

So, we're going to take action:

Our goal: A letter co-signed by 1000 C-Suite Decision making employers, urging the Labour Government and Home Office to reconsider. This will be paired with a data-backed report and case studies to strengthen the argument when this proposal enters public consultation.

We're approaching this from an innovation and economic productivity lens and we want startup leaders, C-suite execs, and forward-thinking employers to join us in making the case.

If you work at a company that hires international talent or you think your employer would want to stand up for fair and sustainable immigration rules, we need to hear from you.

👉 Please email me directly at karina@migreats.com if your company would seriously consider signing.

There is power in numbers. Let’s make our voices heard before it’s too late.

Check out her comment as well as a video message in the comments. Please feel free to support and approach your organisations to support migreats by sharing Karina’s details with your organisation. Let’s take this a step forward!!!
