Why this petition matters

Started by Adam Hughes

From 2018 to 2019, Many mobile phone game developers have been creating false adverts that is completely untrue to the gameplay. Nearly every game from the video game organisation Playrix is guilty of making many childish and unsatisfying adverts for their games. They include Gardenscapes, Homescapes, Fishdom and Township. Many other mobile games, such as Firecraft Studio's Matchington Mansion and other games like Words Story and Hero Wars are also guilty of false advertising. There are so many of them, it's horrendous. Back in years like 2009 and 2010, we had honest adverts where they are true and enticing to play.

What do they do you ask? Well, they show a scenario where a house is in a state, where water is leaking from a sink, a kitchen stove is on fire, a bath is overflowing, etc and the player is given a choice of items to solve the problem, but rather than using their common sense and using the appropriate item, they choose very inappropriate items and destroys the house, such as adding gasoline to a fire and a hammer to the sink, which results in a "fail" sign appearing.

Gardenscapes/Homescapes are also guilty of ripping off the Simpsons as they show their protagonist in rooms that appear in the programme.

In later adverts, they had been making similar adverts but with cruddy animation where their protagonists are either in a desert, a frozen wasteland or chased by bears or sharks and the player makes incompetent choices and unsatisfyingly fails.

When you download the game, you will find it is nothing like the adverts, they are actually clones of Candy Crush or word spelling games.

A youtube user has uploaded videos of what the advert shows and what the game is actually like. A few days later, a developer sent him a message on Instagram and threatened him with legal action unless he takes it off, as the developer claims exposing their adverts and gameplay damages their reputation. Fortunately, the youtube user refused to remove the video and continues to expose more of the adverts.

I had tried to help by writing on the Playrix games Wikipedia pages by exposing what they are guilty of doing, but they had got removed due to a lack of reliable resources

I am now making this petition in order to help stop these false gameplay adverts and I need your help. Please sign and spread the petition so hopefully we can stop the false gameplay and make mobile advertising true and honest again.
