As someone who has lived on Bo'ness road for 18 years, I know how important this is for the local economy and the local community.

Bo'ness Road is the main connection between the towns of Bo'ness of Grangemouth. These towns are linked with families, friendships and local businesses but the permanent road closure of Bo'ness Road would have a devastating impact on these links.

Falkirk Council have to ask themselves, are the current plans of INEOS for permanent road closure worth harming these links?

INEOS state that permanent road closure is required for the plant to succeed but why was this not the case in 2005 when INEOS purchased the plant?

Despite this dramatic change in opinion, in regards to the road, INEOS have failed to answer the questions which the people of Grangemouth and Bo'ness need answered before road closure is even considered.

What alternative routes will be in place? What will the consequences for walkers and cyclists? (Especially as the current alternative route as no street lights?) What will the consequences be for people who work in Edinburgh and Glasgow? What will happen with emergency services? What are INEOS doing to protect the needs of small business? What will happen to the alternative route if there was an accident?

These are just some of the few questions which have been asked by the people of our community. As a council that represents this community, or a big business that states on their website: 'our focus is firmly on supporting our local communities', I urge you to answer these questions for the local community before contemplating any road closure. Failure to do so is insulting to the people you support and represent.

Kind Regards,
