June is a month filled with the promise of summer, renewal, and family gatherings. It presents a meaningful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the enduring values of faith, family, and moral guidance that have long strengthened our homes and neighborhoods.
We are inviting Hillsborough County to recognize June as Faith and Family Month — a time dedicated to uplifting biblical family values, encouraging spiritual growth, and reinforcing the bonds that hold our community together.
This initiative is about positively affirming the values that many families in our community hold dear — faith in God, strong marriages, responsible parenting, respect for one another, and nurturing the next generation with moral clarity and love.
By recognizing Faith and Family Month, we create space for:
Churches and ministries to host family workshops, marriage enrichment seminars, youth mentorship programs, and community service events
Families to reconnect through shared activities, prayer gatherings, and intergenerational celebrations
Local organizations to promote programs that strengthen family bonds and encourage character development
Community leaders to affirm the foundational role families play in social stability and long-term community health.
Faith and family are cornerstones of a thriving society. When families are strong, communities flourish. When faith is active, hope and unity grow.
This declaration would serve as a proactive and unifying initiative — one that brings people together around shared values and encourages positive engagement across Manatee County.
By signing this petition, you are supporting a movement to highlight and strengthen faith-centered family life in our community. We respectfully ask the Hillsborough County Council to officially recognize June as Faith and Family Month.
Mayor Bruce Rector of Clearwater has affirmed his support, and additional leaders are expressing interest in joining this effort.
