In light of the fatal gun violence incident at the recent Sem-Yeto graduation, the people of Solano County are requesting a location change for the Fairfield High School graduation ceremony on Friday, June 5th, 2026. The students and community have come to the agreement that proceeding with the ceremony at Schafer stadium would be unsettling to students and families. We understand the importance of this graduation and why it may not be feasible to reschedule the graduation. However, given the occurrences at this location, community members have also come to the consensus that a celebration on these grounds would be disrespectful towards the victims and their loved ones. Students, faculty, and family have expressed fear, uneasiness, and disgust at the thought of proceeding with the ceremony at its scheduled location. For these reasons we are requesting that the Fairfield High School graduation ceremony be held at the Solano County Community College stadium (4000 Suisun Valley Rd., Fairfield, CA) or another suitable, alternate location.
