The percentage of students in Fairfax county failing in 2 or more classes has gone up 100% in the first quarter of 2020. The WashingtonPost.com discovered that the amount of students, in general, with 2 or more failing classes jumped by 82%. According to Foxnews.com,  the amount of male students failing 2 or more classes has gone from 7 to 14% and 4 to 8% for female students. WJLA.com and NBCWashington had similar findings. FCPS does not care for the welfare of their students. By letting their staff overwork their students, it has created an inhospitable environment with little to no free time for students to enjoy life. Their “solution” for students being stressed is supplying “calming” YouTube videos and articles to de-stress their students, without comprehending that it might be the enormous workload they undertake. The purpose of this petition is to decrease the workload of FCPS students, and bring light to the amount of stress students are victim to.
