Do not lay off Dave Ruby, Professional TV Production teacher
Mr. Dave Ruby has been a teacher for Fairfax Academy for Communications and The Arts. Recently, due to budget cuts, his job position has been called into question. The undersigned recognize Mr. Dave Ruby's value as an exceptional educator, and are asking Fairfax County to keep him on as a teacher for the Professional Television Production course. He is an insurmountable asset to the Fairfax Acadmy program. As a teacher for the Professional TV Production course, he has a genuine love for film and television that he instills and fosters in his students. He gives his students insight into the industry of film and television--one that is growing more rapidly than almost any other industry today. He worked in the industry and still maintains good relations with contacts in the industry, such as an executive at Daily Motion. Mr. Ruby has, on multiple occasions, introduced his contacts to students, giving his students valuable opportunities and information. He has been the one constant in a one to two year program for several years, and connects current students with alumni who are working in the field. Mr. Ruby is personally invested in his students' education and success. Mr. Ruby treats his students with a level of respect deserving of young professionals, and inspires as much respect in return. Due to the caliber of his instruction, many of his students are now successful in the film and video field. Fairfax County must keep Mr. Dave Ruby as an asset to students who are pursuing film and television careers.
