Vote No on Top Golf Kingstowne Redevelopment Proposal

The Issue

The current redevelopment proposal for the former site of the Kingstowne Top Golf has been modified to remove green space (parks) as well as retail space and instead replaces it with:

  • The mass addition of over 200 dwellings which includes stacked townhomes (that’s 2 townhomes on top of each other )
  • Increase the population density established by Kingstowne of 3-4 dwellings per acre to now 12 per acre. No other area in Kingstowne has this density.
  • Removal of acres of mature tree foliage that blocks road noise and provides protection from rain runoff and flooding.
  • Addition of ‘affordable housing’ which will reduce values of surrounding areas while providing additional revenue streams for developer.
  • Additonal entry points to neighborhood which will drastically strain traffic congestion in an already strained environment. To include increase safety concerns for children walking to neighboring Edison High School and Little Acorn Patch School.

We ask for a proposal more in line with the original proposal noted from 2015- 2019 in which residences are kept to 3-4 per acre, as well as retail space and green spaces retained.

Retail spaces gross $8 in tax revenue for every $1 generated by residential spaces. This is a better decision for the community, the county and the developer.
