Fair Go for our Police

Fair Go for our Police
The issue
A Fair Go for our Force: Victoria Police need a Wage Rise and Fair Roster System at Work
By signing this petition, we, the undersigned, identify that Premier Allan (the Hon. Jacinta Allan, MP,) must immediately and without delay deem it necessary to action Fair Work practices, by arranging fair pay and rosters at work, for the police force of Victoria, Australia.
That is, we, by signing this well-meant and sincerely intended petition, request immediate affirmative action regarding a 4% pay-rise, plus more regulated scheduling of rosters, for Victoria Police.
This petition identifies that we, by signing it, not only want to say a well-deserved "Thank You" to our police for doing their best to keep Victoria safe, but to also say to them, and to the Victorian government, and public, that police deserve the same H.R. best-practices to which every Australian citizen is entitled, by Law, and in keeping with the terms put forward by the Fair Work Commission regarding fair work conditions for all employees, in every sector.
Victoria Police have, since the Royal Commission, documented unwavering commitment to best-practices implementation, as far as possible and with total commitment to world-class training for new and existing police officers and all police staff members, plus the development of standards regarding diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in the hiring process.
These improvements (especially in the last decade,) have not only created a safer and more professional workplace for police themselves, but have become standard-bearers for nations around the world who want to learn from the constant upgrades demonstrated by Victoria Police.
The number of potential crises averted by Victoria Police, plus the reduction in the road toll, and the dramatic reduction in domestic and street violence, plus the reduction in hate-crimes and racially-biased violence, are a testimony to the level of commitment shown consistently by Victoria Police.
Victoria Police were one of the first forces in the world to allow officers to wear faith-based attire (in the example of turbans,) as part of the regular police uniform. This is just one shining example of how our police are ahead of the curve in making sure their staff and, the wider community, feel welcomed, included and, represented.
These are among the many instances of world-class developments in policy and implementation of best-practices which reflect the needs of today's proudly multicultural and constantly changing society.
Thank you for considering signing this petition, which, (upon reaching 800 signatures,) will be respectfully presented to our Premier, for her consideration regarding urgent implementation of a modest, yet well-earned, 4% pay rise, plus fair rosters, for our police here in Victoria.
