Fair/Foul Play and Accountability in Football Manitoba Games

Fair/Foul Play and Accountability in Football Manitoba Games
The Issue
To: Football Manitoba Administration
From: Concerned Players, Parents, and Supporters
Subject: Implement Mandatory Game Recordings and Ensure Fair Officiating for Injuries Related to Foul Play
We, the undersigned, are calling on Football Manitoba to take immediate steps to improve fairness, safety, and accountability in all league games.
Too often, there are disputes and confusion about whether plays were fair or “dirty,” and without video evidence, it becomes impossible to verify what really happened. This lack of transparency can lead to unfair penalties, uncalled for roughness, missed calls, and unnecessary tension between teams, coaches, and officials.
We believe that every game should be recorded on video, either by the league or by an assigned volunteer so that questionable plays can be reviewed if needed. Having game footage would not only clarify incidents but also help in player development, training, and officiating reviews.
Additionally, we ask that referees call the game fairly and consistently on both sides. All teams and players deserve equal treatment, regardless of age, skill level, or reputation. Consistent officiating ensures safety, respect, and true sportsmanship values that should define Football Manitoba.
Our Requests:
Mandatory video recording for all Football Manitoba games.
Review system for questionable or dangerous plays.
Referee accountability and balanced officiating across all teams.
We believe these steps will strengthen the integrity of the league, protect players, and promote the fairness that football is meant to represent.
Signed
