Facts over Feelings:   Say NO to the Lower Providence Homeless Shelter by signing this petition

Montgomery County is pushing to build a homeless shelter in Eagleville, PA, a location already burdened with the County Prison and a Drug & Alcohol Rehab Center.

FACTS:
 
-  Convicted criminals qualify for this homeless shelter

-  Too close proximity for the safety of our children.  The residents of the shelter are free to walk about, most will make their way to the Turkey Hill, which is adjacent to Eagleville Park with its adjacent Eagleville School

-   Housing values drop up to 14% within a 10-mile radius of a Homeless Shelter

-   The company the county has chosen to provide these services along with two-million ($2,000,000) dollars is RHD

-   Insufficient Management: RHD has a track record for poor management of their facilities. Simply look at their reviews, Better Business Bureau, and what former and current volunteers and employees have to say

-   Increased Demand on Local Services & Resource Allocation:  This equates to your tax bill going up, as more police and EMTs will be needed

-   RHD tried a Trooper Road location in 2022, and the citizens quickly learned about them, then united, and wisely fought them and stopped them from coming to their community

-   The County and RHD’s attorney found a “friendly” supervisor board in Lower Providence, they found a loophole and re-wrote legislation so they could vote this in without even an impact study or resident approval. 

-   Even if you disagree with all said above, can we agree that the County should slow walking this “band-aid” solution for those down and out in their life situation and looking for a more effective solution for them?
