Did you know that there is no law stopping a registered sex offender from following a child on Social Media? The internet has evolved, gone are the days of internet chat rooms, they have become obsolete to sexual predators. Their methods have evolved and now we need to evolve our methods to protect our children. For a predator, it is as easy as the click of a button, follow. Then opens the floodgates; access to friends, their schools, their hobbies, and extracurricular activities.

I have witnessed registered sex offenders following multiple pages of children; I have gone to the police to no avail. Our police officers are bound to the law and can only help when a law is being broken. This is in our hands now; we must protect our children! If a person is convicted of a sexual crime against a child; it should be illegal for them to follow children on social media.
