A new study by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) shows that more than 50% of child sex crimes take place on a Facebook-owned app.

Now, Facebook is developing an Instagram app for children UNDER the age of 13!! Mark Zuckerberg confirmed this at a congressional hearing on March 25/21. Oh but wait, Instagram just started asking people for their date of birth, so everything will be ok - right?! LOL They've also recently announced that they will attempt to use Artificial Intelligence to determine who's lying about their age and that they may be able to prevent adults in chatting up random kids on Instagram!

DEFEND takes the position that this is NOT ENOUGH and that KIDS ARE NOT SAFE ON FACEBOOK-OWNED PLATFORMS!! The only way to protect children and vulnerable people online is to have age/ID verification for all persons on ALL social media.
