Stop auto account suspension by Facebook when a photo is reported as against standards.

The Issue

Facebook now uses an a type of bot to deal with posts reported by users as violating community standards. This system results in an automatic suspension of the reported account when the complaint is received. If the account asks for an appeal, a real person then examines the allegedly offending post. Even when the post is then deemed to have NOT violated community standards, the account suspension remains in effect.

This system is enabling troll accounts that harass Facebook users by continuously reporting posts on their victim's account. The victim remains suspended even when the appeal process finds they posted nothing inappropriate. When the suspension time expires, the troll account simply reports another post from the victim and the victim of this harassment is again suspended. And again, even though Facebook declares the post not to be a violation, the suspension of the victim's account remains in place.

This unfair, arbitrary, and inefficient system is causing many users to leave the platform. Especially those accounts for modeling businesses and fine art photography. Trolls are using the system against Facebook accounts in an attempt to put them out of business, or force them off the platform.

This petition seeks to force Facebook to end the use of this automated system and end the policy of an automatic suspension as a result of an anonymous, unverified report. The system does not function as intended, unnecessarily inconveniences users who have committed no violation of Facebook's rules, and empowers abusers, encourages trolls, and normalizes harassment. It is unfair.

Facebook is not supporting its users with this policy. They are supporting bullies who use Facebook's policy against random, rule-abiding users.

Put an end to it.
