There was the following comment on a Facebook page today: "Why don't you "Germaldo" go back across the border you came from..." It was designed to attack a public figure for his ethnicity (Puerto Rican). I did not report it, however, because I felt like Facebook wouldn't listen, anyway. For example (as if enough examples have not been highlighted here): "Submitted Yesterday This comment wasn't removed Owner Chuck McKenna Activity Nicole Maratovah Czarnecki You reported Chuck McKenna's comment for containing hate speech or symbols. Facebook Help Team Thank you for taking the time to report something that you feel may violate our Community Standards. Reports like yours are an important part of making Facebook a safe and welcoming environment. We reviewed the comment you reported for containing hate speech or symbols and found it doesn't violate our Community Standards. More Options Block Chuck" I don't report content unless I can reasonably assume that the content is a Facebook TOS violation. Also, there is Facebook content that is obviously racist, sexist, etc. that Facebook chooses to not remove. Therefore, then, at least 1,000 of us need to speak up and hold Facebook to its own TOS.
