My friend shared this page with me to show how cruel, disgusting and frankly scary it is. I was shocked by the violence and killing on display. I have decided to petition the owner of the page, Kendall Jones, and Facebook for not taking action against cruelty to animals.

Kendall Jones is a girl from Cleburne, Texas. She runs a YouTube channel and Facebook page about her "hunting adventures". The page promotes and glorifies the killing of animals - many of which are threatened or endangered - for sport. For example, there are people posing with lions, jaguars and bears. 

In this day and age, hunting for sport has become a brutal and outdated practice. It saddens me to see such a waste of life celebrated and boasted about in such a way. The image that shocked me the most was a nine year old girl standing proudly over a bear she had just shot like it was a sculpture she had made at school. She was too young to understand the consequences of her actions and had been brought up to believe it was an accepted thing to do.

There are so many things wrong with this page. On one level, there's the cruelty and suffering caused to animals. There's also the disrespect for life and the promotion of needless killing. Then there's the casual use of guns as tools for enjoyment rather than weapons designed for taking animal and human lives.

I and several of my friends tried to report this page. Facebook's community standards include policies on the removal of content containing nudity and pornography, bullying, hate speech, and threat and violence. Facebook state that "graphic images shared... to celebrate or glorify violence have no place on our site". Apparently this does not apply to animals. 

I am calling for this offensive, cruel and inappropriate page to be removed and for Facebook to include animal cruelty in their community standards. We need to show people like Kendall Jones that we will not tolerate behaviour such as this. Please add your name to support this cause. Thank you.
