Facebook often preaches that it's anti bullying. However many minority groups/vulnerable people are constantly being shared to hate groups and pages. When this happens, often times members of these groups will message these vulnerable people, going as far as to send death threats, telling them to kill themselves, calling them slurs, or even going as far as to doxx their personal information in an attempt to intimidate them or even find their location to do them harm. If Facebook made it to where we could block groups, and by proxy, block all members of those groups this would save a lot of hardship. Currently as I write this I am having to take legal action because a hate Group found my page and has gone as far as to find my personal information and put me and my family at risk. When I announced that I would be taking things to the authorities they then started trying to intimidate me out of doing so. None of this would have happened if I was able to block them immediately so they have no access to my page. Will this stop bullying entirely on the site? No there's always going to be issues with it. However it will definitely cut down tremendously and will make using the site easier. Because as it stands, I and multiple people from multiple vulnerable communities have stated that we are ready to leave the site and stop using it entirely if something is not done about the vitriol and hatred that we have to deal with on a daily basis. You can't say you're anti-bullying and then turn a blind eye to it when it happens. It doesn't matter who you are, what community you come from, or what you believe in, I think we can all agree that this is something Facebook needs to do for not only the safety of vulnerable people but also for the safety of vulnerable children.
