I knew that our fire chief retired 3 weeks ago what I didn’t know was that the interview team chose not to grant the present deputy chief an interview!
After 25 years of fire department service to Lakeville he was not even given the respect that he deserves. He has served as our deputy chief for the last 13 years, has been a resident of Lakeville all of his life and is raising his children in our town. I realize that one of the requirements of the new fire chief position is a bachelors degree. He is only a few months away from receiving this degree which would more than qualify him for this position. I realize that it is summertime and people are busy but I am interested in hearing what Lakeville residents think about how the selectmen are treating one of our own. NO interview??? After a quarter of a century of dedicated public service, to the residents of Lakeville do you think this fair?
