With spring almost here, New York City Council bills to address the helicopter scourge are cropping up like crocuses. Council members have introduced or reintroduced no fewer than nine legislative proposals or resolutions related to nonessential helicopters. Two of the bills would outright ban tourist and commuter flights at the two City-owned heliports, Downtown Manhattan and East 34th Street.
Information about these new Council bills has been added to our website here:

How can you help?
To get these bills passed, we need more City Council cosponsors to sign on!
Don’t know who your City Council representative is? Here’s an easy-to-use search engine that gives full contact information: https://www.mygovnyc.org/
Please click on the link to each bill posted on our website to check if your Council Member is a sponsor.
If your Council Member is NOT listed as a sponsor, please give their office a call and ASK THEM to sponsor the helicopter bills and resolutions. You can also send them an email requesting the same, and if you are on social media, tag them in your public posts.
If your representative is one of the sponsors, please reach out to THANK THEM and tell them why you support the passage of these bills and resolutions. The more our electeds hear from you, the more likely these bills can pass (ideally with a veto-proof majority).
We know this flurry of new bills and resolutions is a bit confusing. But so much activity is a sign that our local lawmakers are taking the helicopter issue seriously and that our advocacy is paying off.
Stay tuned as we schedule meetings with the sponsors of these new proposals to understand the implications of each one. We will be in touch with more details soon!
Thank you!
