The hybrid battery/module in BMW PHEV vehicles which have 6 years or 100,000km mileage warranty (whichever comes first) offered by BMW Malaysia. The model of BWM PHEV vehicles are as follows:

• BMW 330e
• BMW X5 xDrive40e
• BMW 530e
• BMW 740le

There are a lot of cases where the hybrid battery/module in this particular vehicle have failed, and needed to replace the battery cell in order to operate the car normally. 

The hybrid battery is rather fragile in this stage and the warranty is too short to protect the consumers in Malaysia. 

BMW PHEV vehicles consist of few hybrid battery cells, each cell costs more than RM7,000 to replace (According to BMW sales advisor). 

We strongly suggest BMW Malaysia to extend the warranty of hybrid battery on this vehicle to 8 YEARS and/or Unlimited Mileage.
