Extend the Holding Period for Dogs at Tulia, TX Shelter Beyond 14 Days

Extend the Holding Period for Dogs at Tulia, TX Shelter Beyond 14 Days
The Issue
Looks like Tulia City Council has stepped in and now changed the holding period from 14 days to 10.
With no kill shelters around we need to desperately extend this. It's heartbreaking to know these precious animals are on a significant time limit, before truly having that time for a second chance before their life is lost.
No fault of their own!! Please sign this petition and share. I took a break out of being discouraged but this just fueled the fire again.
I have lived in Tulia, TX for the last 12 years, and it has been my home, a place I care deeply about. I have always had a soft spot for animals, and being here has made it even more personal. Six years ago, Tulia Animal Control Advocates came to our town from Amarillo, Texas, and transformed our animal shelter from solely being a place of untimely and unfortunate ends for innocent dogs to a place of hope and second chances. Even with the existing limitations, it wasn't just a quick 10-day countdown, there were efforts to tag, adopt, rescue, and save the animals.
However, the city council has recently passed a new policy to euthanize all dogs after a mere 14-day holding period, practically shortening their chances to be saved. The council, in my personal view, has been uninvolved in efforts to save these animals. This change presents an imminent danger to many dogs who deserve a second shot at life. Our group, with its 5900 devoted followers, is giving their all and has saved hundreds of dogs within the past six years. But it's not enough when the policies aren't on our side.
We are asking for your help to influence the change we need. Demand that the city council extend the holding period for dogs at our shelter to a humane duration, giving each of them an adequate chance to be rescued or adopted. Our small town might appear indifferent, but we, the animal lovers, care. And together, we can make a huge difference. Please, help us save these innocent lives by signing this petition.
