WRAP published their Blueprint for a Sustainable Planet. Their goal is for 70% of  plastic to be recycled and 70% of bioplastic to be composted by 2025! 

This is indeed an ambitious target here in the UK but it is one we welcome. It couldn't come soon enough. 

We have been campaigning for nearly 2 years for DEFRA to increase the targets for plastic recycling and composting and this certainly goes a long way to achieving this. 

There is still room for improvement though - 70% isn't 100%, is it? And we still feel strongly that legislation needs to reflect these idealistic targets with penalties and fines in order to drive forward the investment and action plans for all councils.
