As a deeply concerned member of the San Angelo community, I am repeatedly seeing the city release short euthanasia deadlines, sometimes affecting up to 20 dogs. It's a heart-wrenching sight for the people of San Angelo who are constantly racing against the clock and scrambling to find placement for these innocent lives in such an unrealistically short span of time. I believe these canine companions need a week’s grace period to find a foster or adopter.

Extending their euthanasia deadlines not only increases their chances of finding a forever home but also improve their overall well-being.

We are therefore urging the City of San Angelo government and the San Angelo Animal Services department to implement a more humane approach in dealing with this issue. We propose that these departments extend the deadline for euthanasia to a 7 day period, allowing the San Angelo community enough time to react and save these precious lives from what could otherwise be a premature end.
