Extend minimum wage and overtime protections to home care workers!

President Obama has said IT'S TIME to extend federal minimum wage and overtime protections to home care workers.

We agree! It’s time to provide basic labor protections to our nation’s fastest-growing workforce--and one that is vital to the health and well-being of America’s families.

These workers assist older Americans and people with disabilities with activities critical to their safety, independence, and quality of life. Yet half of these workers rely on public assistance to meet the basic needs of their own families.

The time to act is now.

Sign this petition and tell President Obama we support him in carrying these long-overdue minimum wage and overtime reforms across the finish line today.

Letter to
President of the United States Barack Obama
I agree with you, Mr. President, it’s time to provide basic labor protections to our nation’s fastest-growing workforce and one that is vital to the health and well-being of America’s families.

I ask you to move quickly to finalize Labor Department rules that will apply the Fair Labor Standards Act to millions of in-home care providers.

These workers assist older Americans and people with disabilities with activities critical to their safety, independence and quality of life. Yet half of these workers rely on public assistance to meet the basic needs of their own families.

The time to act is now.

Please carry these long-overdue minimum wage and overtime reforms across the finish line today.
