I am a Harley Davidson owner who has been grappling with a defective motorcycle for almost two years. Despite numerous repairs, the motor finally gave out, leaving me with a useless vehicle and mounting frustration. This is not an isolated incident; many high cylinder motorcycle owners have shared similar experiences of purchasing new motorcycles only to be plagued by persistent mechanical issues.

Lemon laws exist to protect consumers from defective vehicles, but currently, they predominantly cover cars and trucks. It's time we extend these protections to high cylinder motorcycles as well. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there were 82,000 motorcycle accidents in 2019 alone - some of which could be attributed to mechanical defects.

Motorcycle owners deserve the same rights and protections as car owners. We are calling on lawmakers and regulators alike to amend current legislation so that lemon laws also apply to high cylinder motorcycles like my Harley Davidson.
