Thank you for supporting the petition to extend the ICCU warranty on Kia/Hyundai/Genesis electric vehicles. Your signatures and comments helped give weight to an issue that many owners were genuinely worried about.
As part of the campaign, I emailed Damien Meredith, the CEO of Kia Australia, to raise these concerns on behalf of owners.
Today, I received a call from Kia Australia confirming that they will be extending the ICCU warranty to 15 years (and, from what I remember, up to 300,000 km... I was a little surprised). They also mentioned that an official media release will be issued in the coming weeks. I really hope this extends to Hyundai and Genesis owners. I assume we will find out with the public release of the news.
This is a great outcome for Kia EV owners. I Credit to Kia for taking this step, and to Mr Meredith and his team for taking the time to read and respond to an email from an everyday customer.
