Extend Commuter DART Services from Maynooth to Kilcock & Enfield

The commuter population of Kilcock, Enfield, and surrounding areas has significantly increased in recent years. However, despite this growth, our rail services remain inadequate, forcing many to rely on cars and congested roads like the M4.

We are calling on the Minister for Transport, the National Transport Authority (NTA), and Irish Rail to extend the Commuter DART services beyond Maynooth to include Kilcock and Enfield.

Why is this important?

1. Overcrowding & Limited Services: Commuters struggle daily due to packed trains and infrequent schedules.
2. Traffic Congestion & Carbon Emissions: With more people forced to drive, the M4 is often gridlocked, increasing travel times and pollution.
3. Population Growth: Kilcock and Enfield continue to expand, and public transport must keep pace with demand.
4. Existing Infrastructure: The rail line already connects these towns—extending the DART service would be a logical and cost-effective step.

Our Request
We urge the Government and relevant authorities to:
✅ Extend Commuter DART services beyond Maynooth to Kilcock & Enfield.
✅ Improve train frequency and capacity for existing and future commuters.
✅ Invest in sustainable transport solutions that benefit local communities.
