An investigative piece titled “Major Richard Star Act — Mississippi’s Wall of Silence: Why No One Will Answer” reveals a troubling pattern: after announcing dozens of veteran outreach efforts, digital billboards, and email campaigns, there has been no public response from key Mississippi state officials or media outlets.

This isn’t just about policy anymore — it’s about accountability.

On October 8, Roger Wicker objected to the Act that would restore retirement pay to 54,000 medically-retired combat veterans. 

Mississippi’s leadership and press have remained silent — risking the perception that veteran voices are being ignored. 

Those veterans aren’t just numbers. They include people in our communities, defending our country, now left without the pay they earned while service members watch.
