It’s no coincidence that two of the governments currently under international scrutiny for the mass killing of civilians—India under Narendra Modi and Israel under Benjamin Netanyahu—are both key members of the International Democrat Union (IDU), a global alliance of right-wing political parties.
The IDU brands itself as a defender of freedom and democracy. But its most powerful member parties are leading regimes widely accused of suppressing dissent, eroding civil liberties, and weaponizing state power against civilians.
In India, the BJP has escalated repression in Kashmir, jailed journalists, and enabled widespread anti-Muslim violence under the guise of national unity.
In Israel, Netanyahu’s government has carried out relentless bombardments in Gaza, with civilian death tolls that can’t be explained away as unfortunate collateral damage.
What ties these governments together isn’t just policy—it’s ideology. It’s the normalization of authoritarianism through democratic institutions. And it’s supported by a powerful infrastructure of international propaganda that works across borders to spin, sanitize, and defend their actions.
We need to stop seeing these patterns in isolation. This is coordinated. It’s political. And it’s interfering with democratic processes not just abroad, but here at home—through campaign influence, messaging networks, and ideological alliances that shape our elections and public debate.
If you believe it’s time to expose and confront this, sign and share my petition calling for an investigation into foreign and international interference in our elections:
This isn’t about left vs. right—it’s about truth vs. manipulation. We deserve better.
