If the person has paid their bills on time for 3-5 years they shouldn’t have to be needlessly punished at a time like this. If they have paid on time they have shown their credit worthiness. Besides, our fellow citizens need help going forward and this doesn’t cost taxpayers anything. During the 2008 recession many Americans had to foreclose on their homes 3-4 years later In 2011-2014. They were hard working, tax paying Americans. They had to file bankruptcy and that lasts 10 years on a credit report. Here we are in another financial crisis and many of these same people are still paying for the first recession. Help people by giving them a fresh start. Better credit scores equal lower interest rates, which lower payments, which puts more money in their pockets. Simply put, the less money you pay in interest, the quicker you can pay off your debt and the more money you have for other expenses such as your mortgage, rent, and food. In a critical time where Americans need all the help they can get, this is the quickest and easiest way to provide it. Please join us in helping make things easier for those in need. We give prisoners parole and early release for good behavior why can’t we extend that to those who have bad credit?
