We are cricket lovers who cherish this sport, but our enjoyment has been marred by the ear bleeding, soul sucking, and disrespectful commentary of Sanjay Manjrekar during India matches. It has reached to such an extent that we are compelled to mute our televisions to avoid his commentary.

Sanjay Manjrekar’s comments often seem biased and do not reflect the spirit of impartial match narration expected of a professional commentator. It is our right as viewers to enjoy cricket commentary that is informative, respectful, and unbiased.

We are not alone in our expression of discontent. A 2015 survey conducted by Times of India revealed that over 63% cricket viewers were unsatisfied with Manjrekar's commentary, citing reasons including bias and lack of respect (Times Of India, 2015). Yet, he continues to commentate on every match, making it difficult for loyal cricket fans, like us, to enjoy the experience.

We understand that commentary is an art and commentators like Harsha Bhogle and Richie Benaud are revered for their ability to elevate the value of the match with their insightful narration. This is the standard we demand, not one that prompts us to mute the television.
