The Issue

We urge the relevant authorities to consider the expulsion of Israel from the Eurovision Song Contest on the grounds of severe and documented human rights violations.

The UN Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices resulted in the 56th report (A/79/363), published on September 20, 2024, where it concluded that there were serious transgressions, such as war crimes and genocide, on the part of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

Israel's actions, including the use of hunger as a weapon of war, mass attacks on civilians, persecution of humanitarian workers, forced displacement of 1.9 million Palestinians, and the use of AI in military attacks, have resulted in severe humanitarian violations.

These actions violate the EBU's core values of diversity, inclusion, and respect for human rights and are incompatible with the values of the contest, particularly those around promoting peace and unity.

The EBU has previously expelled countries for similar violations, such as Russia in 2022, setting a clear precedent. Therefore, we formally request that the EBU investigate Israel’s actions, review the evidence, and suspend Israel's participation in Eurovision.
