### Why this petition matters

 

The U.S. House of Representatives has the **sole power of impeachment** (Article I, Section 2, Clause 5) – a vital check on executive abuse. Yet a narrow Republican majority has **repeatedly blocked** legitimate impeachment resolutions against President Donald J. Trump, including:

 

- **H. Res. 537** (Rep. Al Green, D-TX) – tabled June 2025  

- **H. Res. 353** (Rep. Shri Thanedar, D-MI) – never referred to Judiciary  

 

These actions violate **Article I, Section 5, Clause 2** by engaging in **disorderly behavior** and undermining the Constitution. Leadership has turned the House into a shield for executive misconduct instead of a guardian of democracy.

 

We demand **immediate Ethics Committee investigations** and **votes on censure or expulsion** for the key obstructors:
