Hello, my name is Nicholas Levenstein. Please sign this petition and send it on to 10 of your friends. The link is in the upper-right corner of bringleonhome.org.
Today, world leaders are demanding the return of abducted Ukrainian children. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and others have said clearly: every child belongs with their family.
But I want to ask a simple question: what about American children?
My son, Leon Levenstein, is an American citizen. After his mother passed away, he was taken and unlawfully kept in Russia. Guardianship officials have ignored my rights as his father. Witnessing Leon’s suffering while being powerless to help has been devastating. For nearly two years, I have fought in Russian courts, spending months in Russia in 2024, and I will return again in 2025 to continue fighting for him.
This isn’t just about my son—it’s about every American child abducted abroad and waiting to come home. But immediately, it’s about Leon—and abducted American children in Russia who have been separated from their parents.
So far, the only action of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow has been to send a letter to the Russian Foreign Ministry—the contents of which I am not even aware. If the U.S. can negotiate for others in Europe, it must also fight for its own children, like Leon.
That’s why I am calling on:
- Donald J. Trump, President of the United States;
- Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation;
- J.D. Vance, Vice President of the United States;
- Marco Rubio, Former U.S. Senate for Florida; and
- Steve Witkoff, American businessman and philanthropist.
To make abducted American children a priority in U.S.–Russia negotiations, just as the world has done for Ukraine’s children.
This isn’t just about one child—it’s about holding bureaucrats accountable and demanding the U.S. government prioritize its citizens, especially during international negotiations. My son’s case highlights a broader issue affecting American families torn apart. I am fighting for Leon’s return and to protect other children from similar injustices.
Please, add your voice. Sign our petition at Change.org. Help bring American children home. Bring Leon home.
