Expand Operation Guardian to All Oklahoma Borders to Keep Communities Safe

The Issue

In Oklahoma, we believe in law and order—and the recent success of Operation Guardian proves what’s possible when our leaders take border security seriously. In just one recent sting near the Arkansas border, 70 undocumented immigrants were detained, one person was found with an Interpol warrant, and more than 500 vehicles were checked to protect public safety.

This isn’t just about immigration—it’s about stopping unsafe, unlicensed drivers from operating on our roads, many of whom may not be trained or able to read road signs in English. That creates risks for everyone, especially on major interstates like I-40. Our state troopers and the Department of Public Safety are doing their jobs, and they deserve our support—not criticism.

Commissioner Tim Tipton and Governor Kevin Stitt are showing real leadership by working with ICE to enforce laws the federal government too often ignores. If Washington won’t do its job, Oklahoma must.

We, the undersigned, urge the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety and Governor Stitt to expand Operation Guardian to all of Oklahoma’s borders immediately. That includes the northern and southern regions, where similar risks and illegal activity are likely to be found.

Our communities expect the law to be enforced. Operation Guardian is already proving effective, and it must be broadened, not scaled back. We also ask that full funding be maintained or increased to support these vital safety operations.

We are not against legal immigration—we’re against lawlessness. This is about protecting Oklahoma families, enforcing the law, and standing with the men and women who wear the badge.
