As a dedicated aviation advocate and neighbor, I am passionate about expanding the capabilities and operational hours of our local airpark to better serve residents, enthusiasts, and even military operations. This petition is a heartfelt plea to extend and enhance the Clearwater Airpark's infrastructure, ensuring it becomes a beacon of innovation and a hub of activity around the clock.

Currently, Clearwater Airpark operates within limited hours, which restricts certain types of aircraft operations and the overall potential of the facility. I propose extending the primary runway to 12,500 feet utilizing a combination of land acquisition strategies, including eminent domain. This expansion will accommodate a wider range of aircraft, fostering economic growth and positioning our airpark as a leader in aviation advancements.

Moreover, constructing an intersecting runway spanning 11,500 feet will be revolutionary. By implementing an overpass runway, the first of its kind globally, we can maintain seamless vehicular traffic flow while accommodating larger jets. This novel approach will not only elevate Clearwater Airpark's infrastructure but also enhance safety and operational efficiency.

In support of our aviation enthusiast neighbors in Clear View Lake Estates, who enjoy the sounds of jets, we propose building a hush house on the airpark's north end. This structure will mitigate noise for other nearby residents while preserving the distinctive auditory experience cherished by aviation fans in the area.

Furthermore, abolishing the existing airport operational limitations and allowing 24-hour access would permit unrestricted afterburner take-offs for military jets. Having a Huey helicopter idling on site 24/7 would also be a strategic asset, not only for potential emergency situations but also as an attraction for aviation enthusiasts and families.
