Hello Everyone,
It has been three months since my last update, and I am excited to share that there has been meaningful progress.
Recently, the Green Lake Evans Pool project was featured on KNKX Public Radio, followed by a mention of the petition in The Seattle Times. This initiative is continuing to gain momentum and has now surpassed 2,000 signatures.
In addition, leadership at SPLASHForward, the water advocacy nonprofit where I serve as a Board Member, has confirmed with Seattle Parks and Recreation that schematic plans for the project are currently being modified.
The city is working on a preliminary proposal incorporating community input, including ours, and plans to hold a public meeting on the new design sometime this summer. During that time, there will be an opportunity for additional public input. As more details become available, I will continue to share updates.
I want to reiterate that this progress is directly tied to community advocacy. The petition and your outreach efforts are making an impact.
If you have not yet sent a letter to the city, I strongly encourage you to do so. A template letter is available and can be easily customized to reflect your perspective.
Please continue spreading the word about this important resource for our Seattle community. If you have connections with media outlets, community groups, or individuals interested in getting involved, please introduce me to them. You can reach me at allie.l.bacharach@gmail.com.
Thank you again for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Allie Bacharach
