Expand and Enforce Noise Ordinance for Poe Rd Music Sanctuary

The Issue

Living near Poe Rd in Grand Rapids, Ohio, a normally tranquil and beautiful village, has recently become quite challenging due to the ongoing disturbances caused by the Music Sanctuary located at 24401 Poe Rd. Residents, including families, students, and professionals, are constantly subjected to loud music from the venue which plays late into the night and throughout entire weekends. These unending three-day events have made it nearly impossible for many residents to get a proper night's sleep, consequently affecting their health and quality of life.

Due to the current regulations not covering areas just outside the village limits, those residing in a close proximity, especially within a 5-mile radius of the venue, are left with no legal recourse. Every citizen deserves peaceful nights and the right to restful sleep, essential for wellness and productivity.

We must urge the local authorities to amend the current noise ordinance to encompass areas outside the village limits, specifically targeting known disturbance zones like the Poe Rd Music Sanctuary. By including this venue within the ordinance, realistic operational hours and permissible days for outdoor events can be set to maintain a peaceful environment in our community.

Addressing these events would involve stipulating responsible levels of sound and restricted operating hours, ensuring that the rights of both concert-goers and peace-seeking residents are met. Reasonable solutions might include setting a 10 PM cutoff time for amplified sound, limiting event days to Fridays and Saturdays only, and implementing fines for non-compliance.

This modification not only serves to protect residents from noise pollution but ensures ongoing cooperation between business owners and local communities. Together, with your support, we can bring much-needed tranquility back to Grand Rapids, Ohio. We urge residents and supporters to stand with us and petition our local authorities to expand and enforce this ordinance effectively.

Sign this petition to protect the peace and quiet of our community and contribute to a harmonious living environment for every resident of Grand Rapids, Ohio.
