Exigimos a la FIFA y a la CONMEBOL sanciones disciplinarias de largo plazo a la AFA
El problema
El fútbol internacional se rige por el principio fundamental de que las reglas deben aplicarse con absoluta imparcialidad a todas las federaciones del mundo, sin importar sus trofeos ni el peso mediático de sus estrellas. Sin embargo, la acumulación de episodios antideportivos, agresiones en el terreno de juego, cánticos discriminatorios y manifestaciones políticas por parte de los integrantes de la Selección Argentina y de la AFA ha puesto en evidencia un preocupante doble rasero. Cuando las faltas reglamentarias sistemáticas quedan impunes o reciben castigos simbólicos, se lesiona la integridad de la competición y se envía un mensaje nefasto a las futuras generaciones de deportistas y aficionados.
Uno de los incumplimientos más graves atañe a la estricta neutralidad política exigida por los organismos rectores. El Artículo 16 del Código Disciplinario de la FIFA prohíbe expresamente el uso de eventos deportivos para manifestaciones de carácter no deportivo o político. Mientras que la FIFA y la UEFA han actuado con contundencia sancionando a la selección española por proclamas sobre Gibraltar o a los futbolistas suizos Granit Xhaka y Xherdan Shaqiri por gestos políticos en el Mundial de 2018, la Selección Argentina ha desplegado públicamente pancartas relativas a la soberanía de las Islas Malvinas en encuentros oficiales sin recibir sanciones ejemplares de la misma escala. Esta disparidad de criterio vulnera el principio de igualdad ante la norma y demuestra una peligrosa condescendencia hacia la AFA.
Asimismo, dentro del terreno de juego se ha consolidado un patrón reiterado de conducta antideportiva y agresividad impune que contraviene directamente los Artículos 11 y 12 del Código Disciplinario de la FIFA y el Artículo 12 del Código Disciplinario de la CONMEBOL, los cuales regulan las violaciones a los principios del juego limpio y la conducta incorrecta de jugadores y oficiales. Acontecimientos como los vividos en el Mundial de Qatar 2022 ante Países Bajos, donde se registraron burlas colectivas hacia los rivales, encaramiento con los banquillos y el pelotazo deliberado de Leandro Paredes hacia la zona técnica contraria, representan conductas de extrema gravedad que no recibieron las sanciones disciplinarias de largo plazo que exige el reglamento para proteger el juego limpio y la seguridad de los deportistas.
La problemática se extiende a la conducta extradeportiva y a las celebraciones oficiales tras la consecución de títulos, incurriendo en claras violaciones del Artículo 13 del Código Disciplinario de la FIFA sobre discriminación y del Artículo 11 de la CONMEBOL sobre principios de conducta e integridad. La difusión de cánticos ofensivos, despectivos y de índole racista o xenófoba en autobuses y concentraciones oficiales por parte de integrantes de la plantilla atenta contra el código ético del fútbol mundial. Permitir que estas actitudes queden sin consecuencias disciplinarias severas para los implicados y para la propia federación vulnera los compromisos globales del deporte contra la intolerancia.
Por todo ello, los aficionados firmantes solicitamos formalmente a la FIFA y a la CONMEBOL la apertura inmediata de un expediente disciplinario integral que revise de oficio estos antecedentes acumulados. Demandamos la imposición de sanciones disciplinarias de largo plazo que incluyan suspensiones efectivas a jugadores y directivos reincidentes, multas ejemplares a la AFA y la firme garantía de que los reglamentos sobre juego limpio, neutralidad política y respeto antirracista se aplicarán rigurosamente sin favoritismo alguno para devolver la credibilidad y el juego limpio al fútbol mundial.

We demand long-term disciplinary sanctions from FIFA and CONMEBOL against the AFA for repeated violations of the Disciplinary Code and Fair Play
International football is governed by the fundamental principle that rules must be applied with absolute impartiality to all federations worldwide, regardless of their trophies or the media weight of their stars. However, the accumulation of unsporting incidents, on-field aggression, discriminatory chants, and political demonstrations by members of the Argentine National Team and the AFA has highlighted a troubling double standard. When systematic regulatory infractions go unpunished or receive merely symbolic penalties, the integrity of the competition is damaged and a harmful message is sent to future generations of athletes and fans.
One of the most serious breaches concerns the strict political neutrality required by governing bodies. Article 16 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code explicitly prohibits the use of sporting events for political or non-sporting demonstrations. While FIFA and UEFA have acted decisively by penalizing the Spanish national team for chants regarding Gibraltar or Swiss players Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri for political gestures during the 2018 World Cup, the Argentine National Team has publicly displayed banners regarding sovereignty over the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas) in official matches without facing exemplary sanctions of the same magnitude. This disparity in criteria violates the principle of equality before the rules and demonstrates dangerous leniency toward the AFA.
Furthermore, on the pitch, a repeated pattern of unsporting conduct and unpunished aggression has been established, directly violating Articles 11 and 12 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code and Article 12 of the CONMEBOL Disciplinary Code, which govern breaches of fair play principles and misconduct by players and officials. Events such as those during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar against the Netherlands—where collective taunting of opponents, confrontations with the opposition bench, and Leandro Paredes intentionally kicking the ball into the technical area occurred—represent extremely severe misconduct that did not receive the long-term disciplinary sanctions required by regulations to protect fair play and player safety.
The issue extends to off-field conduct and official celebrations after winning titles, resulting in clear violations of Article 13 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code concerning discrimination and Article 11 of the CONMEBOL Disciplinary Code on principles of conduct and integrity. The dissemination of offensive, derogatory, racist, or xenophobic chants on official buses and team gatherings by squad members violates the ethical code of world football. Allowing these attitudes to remain without severe disciplinary consequences for those involved and for the federation itself violates the global commitments of the sport against intolerance.
For all these reasons, we, the undersigned fans, formally request that FIFA and CONMEBOL immediately open a comprehensive disciplinary investigation to review these accumulated precedents ex officio. We demand the imposition of long-term disciplinary sanctions, including effective suspensions for repeat-offender players and officials, exemplary fines for the AFA, and a firm guarantee that regulations regarding fair play, political neutrality, and anti-racist respect will be strictly enforced without favoritism to restore credibility and sportsmanship to world football.
