To work out the impact here is a simple example 

Situation now:

13.8% Employers NIC on salary above £9,100

so for an employee on £30,000 

£30,000-£9,100 = £20,900 x 13.8% = £2,884 per year 

from 1 April 2025:

15% Employers NIC on salary above £5,000

so for an employee on £30,000

£30,000-£5,000 = £25,000 x 15% = £3,750 per year 

increase is £3750 - £2884 = £866 - a  30% increase 2025 from 2024 

This is a massive increase- almost £1,000 per year on average per employee
