The historic log cabin atop the ridge on schoolhouse hollow road in Huntingdon county Pennsylvania has been treasured by residents of Huntingdon county's and the Simpson family, friends and guests since Frederick Miller Simpson built it by hand and with loving care with the stated intent to be passed on from generation to generation.
This cabin was so valued as a homestead by the family that when Raystown lake was enlarged this, the cabin built by the family that built the Raystown dam was picked up and moved so it specifically could be saved and kept in the family forever.
Generations of friends and neighbors share fond memories.
Four generations of family names are etched in the walls and close to a century of tradition and history are sacred to a loving family is shared . Clearly it was never meant to leave the family.
We respectfully submit this proclamation of support to for the Simpson family to keep this magical place in the family as was directly specified in the will of Cary Simpson.
NOTE: There has been no final accounting of the estate however due to a adversarial relationship with the attorney and executor the cabin was contracted to be sold to a group of out of the area Amish pig farmers to "pay bills" without any attempt to preserve the family homestead and business. If you have ever spent time at the cabin you know it means the world to the family.
