No to Terrorism as Tool of Governance

The gross violation of human rights and the outright assault of unarmed and defenseless citizens of the indigenous people of Owerri orchestrated by the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha with uniformed gunmen and organized political thugs to forcibly intimidate and coerce submission of Owerri people for his pet project has resulted in the loss of several lives, and property destruction in Owerri, Imo State , Nigeria. The governor has turned a peaceful city into a killing field. Development project, no matter how well intentioned must be bent to serve the need of the people, but never people killed, maimed, and dispossessed for a project. Governor Rochas Okorocha must be held accountable for this egregious act of state sponsored terrorism on defenseless citizens of Owerri, on Saturday, August 26 2017.

Governor Rochas must make restitution for loss of lives and property, and must bring the perpetrators of this cowardly acts to justice.
