Just like many Canadian citizens, I find myself deeply concerned about the recent and unprovoked trade war initiated by the United States. It is a blow to our nation and it sadly impacts our community here in Sudbury. Our community harbours the Bridge of Nations - a symbol of unity and respect for diverse cultures. However, standing amidst the flags of 89 nations, there remains the flag of the United States, the country behind the unwarranted economic conflict.

While respect for every nation is fundamental, it's also crucial that we stand strong and express our collective disapproval over these harsh measures. We must unite to signify our protest against the unanticipated trade war which will greatly affect our national economy. 

The request is simple: it's time to remove the American flag from Sudbury's Bridge of Nations in solidarity with our nation's livelihood and to show the United States that the world believes in fair trade.

However, this petition isn't about promoting hatred or animosity between us and our neighbors. It's about unifying in peaceful resistance while protecting our local community and economy.
