A problem has arisen on TikTok that hits close to home for many of us. Two immensely popular users, known as Jefa and Ashley Trevino, are thought to be spreading a wave of negativity and rudeness across the platform, acting in a manner that disrupts the harmony of our TikTok community. Several grumblings from many users have portrayed these two personalities negatively; they are thus considered fake and nothing more than crude followers trying to gain internet notoriety. Their actions undermine the positive and respectful environment that TikTok aims to foster. Such online conduct is against TikTok’s Community Guidelines, which stipulate that all users should respect each other and promote a positive environment (source: TikTok). Unfortunately, when influential users act contrary to these rules, it sends the wrong message to millions of younger users who look up to them. Thus, we are calling upon TikTok to take decisive action. We encourage TikTok to remove Jefa and Ashley Trevino from the platform to maintain respect, promote positivity, and ensure the platform remains a safe space for all.
