As someone who ardently supports a free Palestinian state and an end to occupation and genocide, I am deeply disturbed by the ongoing human rights violations in Gaza. These actions, widely reported by international media outlets, have been attributed to Israel - a nation that is set to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The United Nations has repeatedly condemned these actions, with their reports indicating that over 25,000 Palestinians have lost their lives since October 7th 2023 due to this  ongoing genocide(source: UN reports). Israel has also been accused of genocide by South Africa at the ICJ (the Hague)

The Olympics are a global event meant to celebrate unity, peace and sportsmanship among nations. Allowing a country accused of such grave human rights abuses such as genocide, ethnic cleansing and forcible transfer contradicts these principles. It sends a message that such behavior can be overlooked on an international stage which is unacceptable.

We believe it's time for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to take action against this injustice. We urge them not only as supporters of human rights but also as fans of sport who believe in its power for positive change.
