In the latest draft - July 2019 - of the new London Plan, Sadiq Khan has changed the projected date of the arrival of CrossRail2 in to Kingston so that it could be six years' later than originally planned
And yet the Mayor of London and Kingston's council are intent on storming ahead with their plans to build enough new buildings across the Borough to accommodate more than 135,000 new residents in Kingston in just 22 years. This is despite the fact that our population is forecast to increase by between 24,000 and 34,000 people. Our current TOTAL population is around 167,000 people.
This is massive growth in very little time. Where is the evidence that supports the need for such growth and the Borough's, and our, ability to bear it?
